My first experience as a photographer

Hello!

I should began by saying that even though I had a lot of fun creating this photoshoot ,I also had a lot of unexpected

surprises while doing it.

This was not necessarily a bad thing because I really developed my ability to adapt to different situations, and also my spontaneous spirit. In the end, they are all going to be pretty useful later on.

My initial idea was to organise a ,,glow in the dark” shooting and have my models painted in fluorescent paint. Furthermore, I wanted this to represent the fact that each person has its own colours that are always there, always ready to glow. The dark actually symbolised the hard times we sometimes go trough and the fluorescent drawings highlighted the specific features each one of us has and how they never fade away, they are always visible because they come from inside.

Unfortunately, after ordering the ,,glowing in the dark” paint it came out to be not so ,,glowing”, and by this I mean it was not visible at all in the dark. I then tried to improvise and ordered some light-based products, such as balloons and glasses of water having little lighting bulbs in them.

Doing my project like this, I realised I could still attach a little story to each photo.

The first one, in which both girls have the balloons in front of their faces actually symbolises how people feel they can not show their true personalities because they are afraid others might judge them or not accept their way of thinking

The second one, shows that one of the girls is brave enough to show her character meanwhile the other one is still not ready to do so.

The third photo is an attempt of the second girl to also get involved, socialise, interact with others.

The fourth one captures exactly that ,,wrong” type of friend almost all of us have had who always tries to outshine you, always seeking for attention with whom you do not feel comfortable.

The last picture is about acceptance, finding your voice and the right people to surround yourself with, that share the same values as you.

For the record, these photos were initially created as gifs but for some reason the site did not let me post them like this…:( Life is life, I guess.

However, the experience itself was really unique and made me really think in deepth and pay attention to details I would have not noticed otherwise. Working with models was also pretty cool!!!

I hope you will enjoy! :)

Take care!
